THE STORY 
The Ormarine terroir dates back nearly 2000 years, The history of Ormarine Cellar starts in 1922 when the winegrowers from Pinet gathered in a spirit of solidarity and formed a winegrowers' association. The Piquepoul variety is the starting point of their history when it was first quoted by the famous botanist J B Magnol. Official steps were undertaken in order to enhance the white wine produced in the terroir of Pinet. 

In 1985, Picpoul de Pinet was classified an AOC   joining the large family of AOC Côteaux du Languedoc. From here the cooperative has grown dramatically and they currently have 470 united coopérators operating more than 2.500 hectares of vines and vinifying some 150.000 hectoliters
THE WINE 
The terroir is situated north of Etang de Thau, it is mainly composed of limestone clay soils. The proximity of Lagoon and of the Mediterranean Sea, pays a thermal regulator role by reducing the temperature variations. 

The Ormarine Cellar offers both well mastered techniques and a capacity of innovation which rank the cellar among the first and best in production and wine maturing in Languedoc Roussillon. They have specialised over the years in the vinifying process in each site according to the terroirs and planted varieties in each supply zone. 

The cellar additionally has its own bottling line complying with the highest standards of quality and hygiene. The bottling line has an average capacity of 4,000 bottles per hour.
