Viñas des Jaro takes its name from the small forest of ancient oak trees, known as ‘Jaro’ that surrounds the estate.
After a lengthy search, the Osborne family settled on Finca el Quiñon to be the home of this wine endeavour. The estate sits in the prestigious Ribera del Duero, an area known for its red wines thanks to the remarkable soil. This soil is packed with pebbles and chalky stones and contains remnants of marine fossils. The south-facing sloping position contributes to creating the perfect climate which gives their wines a strong and unique identity.
There are 46 hectares of vineyard at Finca el Quiñon and 41 of these are dedicated to the celebrated Tempranillo. The utmost care goes into harvesting the grapes to ensure maintain the character of the land.
