Grass-fed to begin with is a great source of lean protein and is lower in fat and calories than traditional steaks. Cuts of grass-fed meat are generally leaner because the animals are raised on a natural diet of grass and forage, leading to a far lower fat content and higher levels of healthy omega-3 fatty acids.
Grass-fed is most importantly free from hormones and antibiotics used in most grain fed meat. Feed cows are given massive doses of antibiotics due to the illnesses that run rampant in factory farms. When eating meat from these farms you’re also consuming the antibiotics as well as hormones given to the animal. Grass-fed meat provides more nutrients and much cleaner meat.
