THE HISTORY
The Domaine is located in the Châtillion d'Azergues in Rhône region. Since 1464, the family of winegrowers has been cultivating their vines while using techniques that respect the environment and the soil. The grapes are exclusively hand harvested and the fermentation takes place naturally in small or large oak barrels. Their winemaking philosophy is to produce terroir wines while respecting nature.
THE WINEMAKER
Jean-Giles and Christiane Chasselay moved to GAEC Chasselay father & son and in 1991 gave rise to Domaine JG Chasselay.

In 2000, the couple embarked on a sustainable agriculture approach and began working the vines with increasingly "clean" methods. In 2006, the entire estate was converted to Certified Organic Agriculture

Jean-Gilles and Christiane Chasselay have been harvesting winegrowers since 1981. Following their studies in viticulture, oenology and wine trade, their children Claire and Fabien joined Domaine JG Chasselay in 2007.

Today, Claire and Fabien Chasselay join their parents to perpetuate this passion for wine. Thus, Jean-Gilles, Claire and Fabien work the vines, vinify and age the wines.
The Chasselay family believes the best way to let the terroir and grape variety express itself is to leave it be. Their work of vine and wine is based on respect for the environment, the intrinsic quality of the fruit and the valourization of the taste character of the wines.
