Crottin de Pays 80G

What an interesting cheese! Not to put anybody off but Crottin in French means ‘dung’ and is called this because of the cheese’s resemblance to horse dung when mature (in appearance, not taste!!). The rind gets sucks in as the cheese matures and ripples into something that is wondrous to behold. The cheese has a fresh and delicate “goaty” taste with the texture being both crumbly and melting in the mouth. We like it served simply, spread onto a crusty baguette.

Both crumbly and smooth, gentle goaty tang, some earthy notes too. Paired perfectly with dried figs.
